#PhotogFeature will appear on Cold Tea Collective every other Friday, putting a focus on Asian photographers from around the world who inspire us. As fellow Asian creatives, we want to showcase our favourite photographers, artists, cinematographers, and those in the creative space.

When you use your camera or phone to take pictures, what do you capture with your lens? For many, it’s people. This week’s feature is about portraiture, the art of capturing humans in frame.

Jason Tam – @jasontamphoto

Every photographer has their reasons for starting photography. For Jason Tam, portraiture was a way to expand his horizons and meet other like-minded individuals.

As a relatively introverted photographer, his work reflects his thoughts — his subjects often convey a sense of quiet serenity, combined with subtle elegance.

Natriya Chuna – @natriyac

It’s time to show our staff photographer Natriya Chuna some love!

Based out of Los Angeles, Chuna has taken photographs for some of our interview pieces, including Jackie Fern and Hayden Szeto. As a first generation Thai-American and strong activist in the Asian-American community, naturally we connected through the Asian Creative Network, and the rest is history.

Her work makes use of subtle lighting, tasteful colour choices, and refined optimism. Check out more of her work on her website.
